Making Christmas Magical: Ride & Rise Above’s Mission to Support Families in Bandera

At Reddy Paint, we are proud to support local initiatives that give back to the community. This holiday season, we’re spotlighting Ride & Rise Above, a Bandera-based non-profit founded by Scott Kaufmann. Their mission? To make sure Christmas is magical for 25 local families in need, many of whom have been hit hard by rising costs and inflation.

A Local Tradition of Giving Back

For the past eight years, Scott Kaufmann and his team at Ride & Rise Above have quietly helped well-deserving families across Bandera who struggle to make ends meet during the holidays. What started as a small effort to support five families each year has grown into a mission to help at least 25 families in 2024. By providing financial support, Scott is helping parents ensure their children experience the magic of Christmas, regardless of financial challenges.

But the giving doesn’t stop there. Ride & Rise Above’s mission extends beyond the holiday season. Throughout the year, this incredible non-profit raises money to support veterans battling PTSD and substance abuse, helping them “rise above” becoming a statistic.

Scott’s Story: Turning Tragedy into Hope

Scott Kaufmann founded Ride & Rise Above in 2016 after enduring a series of painful personal experiences. After losing his brother to suicide and almost losing his mother multiple times, Scott turned his pain into a passion for helping others. Understanding the toll of mental health struggles firsthand, he created Ride & Rise Above as a way to support veterans and individuals facing similar battles.

His work, driven by a deep desire to prevent other families from experiencing similar tragedies, has already made a significant impact. Since its founding, the non-profit has raised over $185,000 to support veterans and first responders in need of treatment for PTSD and depression.

This Holiday Season: You Can Help!

At Reddy Paint, we’ve launched our Paint the Town Red campaign to support Ride & Rise Above and their mission to ensure 25 families in Bandera have a magical Christmas. From October through November, we’re raising awareness and donations through community involvement—and we’re asking for your help to make a difference!

Here’s how you can get involved in the Paint the Town Red campaign:

  1. Place a Yard Sign: Allow us to place a sign in your yard to help spread awareness about this campaign. If you are in city limits we need to attach the sign to a fence, outside of city limits we can place the sign in the grass. Each sign includes a QR code that directs people to learn more about the mission of Ride & Rise Above and how they can contribute. Just give us a call at 830-264-6924 and let us know you’ve got a good spot for a sign.

  2. Book a Paint Job: Planning to update your home this season? For every paint job booked through the campaign, Reddy Paint will donate 5% of the proceeds, up to $500 per job, directly to Ride & Rise Above. Your project will not only beautify your home but will also help make Christmas special for families in need. Request a free estimate today and let us know you saw the campaign!

  3. Donate Now: Can’t participate in the campaign but still want to help? You can make a direct impact by donating to Ride & Rise Above to help families and veterans in need. Click here to donate now!

Every bit of support helps, and together we can reach our goal of ensuring that 25 local families in Bandera have a magical Christmas.

Why This Matters

For many families, Christmas can be an incredibly stressful time, especially with the impact of inflation. By participating in our Paint the Town Red campaign, you’re helping alleviate some of that stress and giving families the opportunity to create cherished holiday memories. Beyond that, any proceeds raised above $10,000 will go directly toward helping veterans with PTSD, an issue close to Scott Kaufmann’s heart and the main focus of his non-profit.

Let’s come together this holiday season to make Christmas magical for well-deserving families in Bandera and support the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country.
